MAC Birmingham were looking for a bespoke identity for their Little Geeks Festival, which features a fun and futuristic digital programme. The design needed to align with mac’s current branding whilst being distinct within its own look and feel to reflect the unique and exciting programme of live shows, virtual reality, gaming and workshops primarily for children and young people, along with adults who are young at heart!
I created a fun and quirky identity centred around a circular logo device. The letterforms extend and flow across the page, reminiscent of the tracks of a circuit board. A world is then created across the collateral featuring a host of robot characters and icons representing digital and gaming elements, balanced with rounded flowing shapes drawing on Mac’s brand colour palette, pixellated glitches and pac-man characters blinking across the page.
The result is a vibrant and playful identity for the festival. Printed elements were created along with social media assets, and window vinyl signage at the Birmingham arts centre.
